Judith,

This is pure craziness, to me. Just look at the list of diagnoses - my
goodness - the child and mother are doing the best they can.

Breastfeeding is Normal Feeding for a 14 month old, in addition to solids -
that seems to be what the child is doing.

The strategy of taking away a source of food (breastfeeding) in order to
"force" the baby/child to take more/other foods and by other routes - does
not work in my experience.

It just makes the situation worse, because now the child does not have the
source of food/comfort/immunities that she's been getting.

This child will not eat/grow as a typical 14 month old without these
diagnoses would. Is that not obvious to the team?

Of course, all should try to maximize the nutrients/calories via
breastfeeding, complementary foods, special products.

I hope the family find a good place to get ongoing care - seems a genetic
specialist or rare disease specialist would be a team member to add input.

Laurie
