I have a concern that I would like some input on. I tried the
archives but couldn't find the right info to answer this question.

I have set up a new LC practice with an association with a prenatal
educator/doula and her partner. I have limited experience with pumps
but am eager to learn as much as possible. I have the brown bible
and Kitty Franz's book but need some help from experienced LC's.

Currently this group is renting AE pumps and would like me to take
over administering their pump depot. However, they have different
ideas about which pumps & kits to rent/sell. At present they are
renting out the El**e pumps but my primary concern is that they keep
bringing up a plan to also purchase a P****y Y**rs pump and rent
that out with a new HygieniKit for each renter for short term
rentals. They realize that this would not be appropriate if someone
needed a pump for a good reason but see it more for people who want
a pump for a short time - i.e. going to a wedding, postpartum
engorgement. They think that doing this would be more economical for
their clients.

It don't agree and think it is inappropriate to reuse a single user
pump. The situations where this pump would be appropriate would be
better served by a hand pump.

They also favour the single pump kits as they are cheaper than a
double pump kit. I would prefer to stress the double pump kits and
suggest they consider the conversion to manual attachment for
purchase later if needed.

My opinion so far is that the pump is not meant for multiple users,
it is less durable (bad investment to rent it out), and isn't
appropriate for most renters.

The manufacturer could only contribute that the warranty would be
void if this was done but couldn't give me a technical argument.
They said the HygieneKits will fit this pump so that technically
this proposal is possible but not advisable due to the warranty.

Am I off base by saying I think renting out the P**** Y***s would be
a bad plan?
