Dear Cher,

I am a LLLL (21 years) and you are right - switching is an old, tried and true method which people are afraid to use now because of all this paranoia about foremilk/hindmilk. Hopefully, this will straighten itself out soon, but people do so love to find the ultimate truth or technique - but life is rarely that simple. The only simple truth that I try to impress upon parents is that they need to nurse on cue, which usually means frequently, but that is a technique that they are often not so enthusiastic about. Take care.

Sharon K.
