Well, we have, in brief: I have a mom that is going to weigh diapers for 24
hours. It is quite a long story actually, a baby with a trach and poor
weight gain, no weight loss. We have been doing test weight to make sure
mom's supply keeps up since he has poor tone and she has been doing very
well with keeping things going. Now the doctors are talking g-tube and
supplements since the baby is not fully gaining the norm for a healthy
newborn. He was born in 4/16 weighed 6# 6 oz. lost down to 6#1 in the first
6 weeks ( longer story) while in NICU. We have been following him since
June 1 when he weighed 6#7.8 ounces. Now he weighs 8# 11.4 ounces. He has
ups and maintains but no losses. Anyway, mom wants( really she wants) to
count intake over 24 hours but test weights are not an option so we
suggested diaper weights but I told her I need to research so that we can
figure how this would even help us to get an approximation of intake. I
hope all of that made sense! Thanks for helping

Why not just do intake (test) weights on the baby before and after feeding
on a calibrated, digital scale?
