I received my JHL and remember someone commenting on the thingamajig on the back cover, which is presented as a "LatchAssist". Ha, it goes on to say :

'IN OUR EFFORTS TO HELP MOMS ADDRESS THESE ISSUES (previous statement swelling, engorgement, flat nipples) AND TO HELP THEM GET THROUGH RATHER THAN GIVE UP BREASTFEEDING ALTOGETHER, LANSINOH CREATED THE LATCHASSIST."

Sorry but who are they trying to kid?. Change its colour, change it's name - it is still the old Red Pigeon Nipple Puller, of which I think I bought about 20 years ago. Maybe even before Lansinoh was born, not sure, but how can they blatantly say they created it? Really makes me wonder........

Adding insult to injury I go on by quoting further down the page:

"CURRENT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ADDRESSING TEMPORARILY FLATTENED NIPPLES ARE CUMBERSOME AND TIME CONSUMING - VALUABLE TIME THAT IS BEING TAKEN AWAY FROM ONES' BREASTFEEDING BABY........"

And this on the back of our own journal?? The experts at Lansinoh seem to think that their little toy will negate recommendations of skilled IBCLC's and HCPs in assisting mothers?

Just my cranky thoughts for the day......
