I recently read an article about latex allergy that briefly addressed the
question about latex teats and dummies. It stated that the bottle nipples
and pacifiers are made of a much higher grade latex, significantly reducing
risk.
While that's somewhat comforting to know, we all know that parents do
not throw out the latex teats once they begin to get sticky. Would this
increase risk of allergy? And if we make a wholesale switch from latex
*everything* to silicone, will we see rampant silicone allergies in the next
decade or two?
     Curious...
