<We are putting at least one photo of the tea cup hold that Kay Hoover
lectures about in our new edition of the Breastfeeding Atlas.>

Does anyone know where and when the teacup hold originated? My coworkers
and I were very strong on using it in Dayton, Ohio, teaching it in
prenatal breastfeeding classes given by DCEA in the mid-1970's. We had
been using it possibly since the 1960's, because we found it so helpful
with mothers with large breasts and elastic areolas.

Shortly after we first instituted our classes in 1974, we had visits from
both Jan Riordan and Sarah Danner, who mentions it to me every time our
paths cross at seminars.

We can't remember if we heard of it from some very early seminar or
convention (of which there were very, very few at the time, maybe only
early LLL ones), or whether it MIGHT have been original with us. Or is
Linda Kutner possibly one we may have heard talk about it back then???

It's great to hear that Kay and Barbara will be including a picture in
their next edition.
