I am need of help from anyone on this:

I have a pediatrician who made the following comments...
"I will never suggest clipping an infants frenulum. I was taught in
med school that it is contraindicated unless it affects speech. You
(meaning me, IBCLC) shouldn't even be discussing it with parents."
I found the infant to have the tongue tip turned down behind lower
gum by frenulum attachment near tip of tongue. Infant unable to latch
despite much help, and mom pumping and feeding by bottle. When
I asked if I could provide him with some literature, he stated
"Well, you can send me some, but it better come from pediatric journals
and not nursing or lactation books".
Can anyone direct me to specific articles in pediatric journals that
discuss the possibility that tongue tie clipping might be indicated
in an infant on some occasions? I have JHL articles. Are there
any MD's or pediatricians in particular who would offer comments
accompanied by their name and credentials that I could share with
this pediatrician? He's an excellent pediatrician in all other respects.

Please respond direct to me as well as list.
Thanks, Ellen Vojta IBCLC
