Hi. I am new to this list and have a question regarding treatment of yeast
in a mom and a 11 month old baby. (I am a Canadian family physician)

Has anyone any experience with diflucan liquid for babies? Would you treat
both the mom with oral diflucan and baby at the same time? Or is that a
problem given the fact that some of the mom's medication would pass into
the breast milk.

This mom has tried gention violet several times (3) after monistat cream
for her and oral nystatin for the baby didn't work. She is now getting some
deep breast pain off and on in one breast mainly not excruciating like some
do but uncomfortable when it is there. Her breasts have quite red nipples
and the baby has never had a day without a yeasty coated tongue after about
one week of age despite all the treatment.

Any advice? TIA
