Hi Donna, I only have little time at my hands, because I have to attend a
meeting in fifteen minutes, but wanted to reply anyhow.
Two things came to mind while reading you e-mail.... It might be worth
checking this mums'  thyroid function ( oversupply and restlessness ) and
possible postpartum depression.
I would also see if the mother would be willing to do some relaxation
techniques.

Just a few thoughts from experience. I hope that they'll be of help to you
and that this mother will feel better or gets help quickly.
