Dusting off my foodservice dietitian hat here <g>...if the door to the freezer is *left shut*, a full freezer should keep about 2 days.  If the freezer is just half-full, then the contents will last about 1 day.  If she has an in-frig freezer compartment, that “day” becomes shorter.  What I would suggest doing if she does not have a separate and full freezer is to put some dry ice, blocks or bags of ice in the freezer now in anticipation of the 6-hour power outage.  My personality is such that I’d probably get some dry ice and stuff it into my full freezer as insurance.  (Speaking of, take a freezer/frig inventory for potential insurance claims if her policy covers something like this should the outage go on longer than planned.) 

If she would be more comfortable moving the milk to a friend’s freezer, great.
