No, in my opinion you're turning things around here. Further education will not interfere with excellence, but taking nursing classes will not ensure better outcomes for the clients. And, as someone earlier commented: it is not our performance that is the evaluation of our teachings, but the outcomes in the clients we tend to: Good teachings will lead to more babies being breastfed for longer and more exclusively. That means for example that an LC would not need all A&P classes for nurses, just those relating to the lactation process and dyad.
Now if I might be the one pointing to the one mandatory subject in IBCLC training it would be independent and logical thinking. And ways to teach the same to our clients.
