Chhildren who are breastfed do not have higher IQ's, but they are not compromised in their ability to reach their full potential by sub-optimal feeding practices in infancy

Warmly,

Gonneke, IBCLC in PP LClecturer in southern Netherlands

Recently had a pediatrician challenge my statement that breastfed babies have higher IQ's.  She states this has been disproved in new studies.  I would love to give her the exact studies that do say breastfed babies have higher IQ's.  I am not sure what new studies she is talking about.  She hasn't discussed this with me directly yet just heard this through other staff.  If you know of any studies that state the higher IQ please let me know or if you know of this "new study" the doctor is talking about please let me know.  You can email me privately if you prefer.
