Dear Lactnetters, I am passing this on for Dr. Miri Leibovich MD, IBCLC who is nomail at the moment.

<I feel I need test weighs when I see a baby who is not gaining weight well, often an
older baby, 3 months or even more, the baby seems to be nursing fine, but obviously
something is wrong. In order to launch a big medical investigation I want to be positive
that it's not an intake issue. If I see a baby who is not gaining, nursing lousy, supply
seems down - that's simple. My problem is when bf seems fine, but the baby is not.
Then I need a definite answer - is this a medical, non bf related problem, and
supplementation will just mess up bf, or - is this an intake problem, maybe even
caused by a medical problem, which needs to be investigated, but I also need to
supplement in the meantime.

Maybe you could post this to lactnet, to get other's view on this.
