The extra body hair your co-worker is noticing definately may indicate
excess androgens, male hormones. While it can be normal in some races
for women to have more body hair than in others, there is also a rise of
abnormal amounts of body hair in women. This condition is called
"hirsutism."  I definitely believe that androgens may interfere with
lactation, and in the presence of such symptoms along with low milk
supply would encourage testing for androgens. I'd also take a harder
look at these women and their health/reproductive histories for more
clues.
