I posted about this in 1996 when USA Today had an article plastered on its
front page saying "formula proven safe".  It was based on the NEJM article,
and their "breastfed babies" had only been nursed exclusively for 2 months or
so!  My understanding was that exposure to cow's milk antigens IN THE FIRST
YEAR was where the problems occurred.  Haven't seen the original (or
subsequent) research articles though.
