Hi,
A mom I've been working with for a long time has asked me to post. Her baby is 15 months old and she says that he recently has begun "biting". She has a crack in her areola where his bottom teeth would be. We've discussed the fact that when a baby is properly nursing, his tongue should be covering his bottom teeth. She said that when she tried to look closely as he latched, his tongue was way back in his mouth. Is there any way to get a nursing toddler to change where he places his tongue? Is this something that he's done all along and we just didn't catch it, or could it be something he's just started? I suggested APNO to help heal the wound as well as go back to very carefully aim for a good, deep asymmetric latch like we did when he was a newborn. Any other suggestions?
    Thanks a lot,
