Hi all,

This skin to skin contact has developed into another
example of miscommunication by members, in my opinion.
While the heartbreaking story about the abused young
boy is important in context of honoring one's personal
space, it is also poignant that touching is seen as a
problem--seems like all touching is, even after more
than a decade. I do agree with Zena, who is unknown
to me personally, that positive touching can be taught
and that you don't stop touching.

My intention is not to upset the person that Kathleen
posted for; I am SO SORRY that your son and family
suffered so much, and apparently still do. It is to
say that the remarks from Zena do have some merit and
I hope that the importance of STS will not be
abandoned. Certainly in your practice you should
always value another's personal space and decisions
regarding STS.

Warmly,
Pam.
