The wine is usually given by dipping a piece of gauze into some wine and
letting the baby suck on the gauze.  We encourage the moms to go breastfeed
the baby as soon as he is returned to her.  this together with the taste of
wine usually calms him down and he falls asleep.  I have been to several
britot lately where the moms do not breastfeed and it is interesting that
the babies do not settle as quickly.wonder why?  Duhhhh.
