I know this & I would LOVE to nurse to comfort but it just doesn't seem
to work that way for us. Nyssa chokes regularily on my milk flow (at
least once per nursing on avg., sometimes more) and the emptier the
breast the MORE it seems to spray all over during MER.

She sometimes nurses several times in a 2-3 hr awake period, but then
sleeps 2-3-4 hours and with the wild MER's if she has already nursed
"enough" she pulls off & latches back on frantically over & over again,
or she gags. I've been home about an hour now and she keeps going
through the cycles, dozing for a few min. then waking to writhe & kick
he legs about while screaming for another few minutes. If i latch her
on she soon pulls off either gagging or just to re-root around frantically.

I'd love to be able to turn the milk flow off & comfort her, but i
can't. :-( anti-gravity positions seem to do v. little.

fio (knowing she might be the oddball in the world)
ressource person with allaitement québec
mama to sandrine, 33 mos & nyssa, almost 6 weeks already! tandem nursing.
