i've had to traverse this plain once....i when I didn't know what to
say, i got a  good response from an online friend:

"one is to correct a functional defect  .....  if  our baby had any
other functional defect such as hypospadias or a cleft issue, we'd
absoluely have it remedies.  comparatively, this is a minor procedure."
