I have had a number of clients successfully breastfeed after lap band surgery.  I even had 2 clients breastfeed successfully after gastric bypass.  I say don't worry about it until the results are in (once the baby is born and she's given an honest try).  

Sounds like she just doesn't want to breastfeed....  If she's not at her ideal weight yet, maybe the thought of the extra calorie depletion will motivate her?
