>I was at a meeting last evening where I was informed that the Ohio
Department of
Health has come out with a new regulation that for any HepB positive, or
unknown
status mom the baby may not breastfeed until after the vaccine and
immunoglobin
(Hbig) are administered.<

Susan, is there anywhere that this "may not breastfeed" = prohibition is
stated in writing for Hep B? Indeed, does anyone know of a place where it
is stated that HIV+ women "may not" breastfeed???? I thought it was all at
the level of 'we strongly recommend' and 'why on earth would anyone want to
do that?'. If govt authorities in the US, or the UK are publicly stating
that women 'must not' this is an important change and an important point to
note as this contradicts the current stated position of the WHO... Anyone
who has a written example. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE email me privately.
