Thanks to all of you from both foreign lands as well as those of you in the
U.S.  I am overwhelmed by your sweetness.  To be honest, I wanted to break
the news first as I was feeling that perhaps I had not done my best and had
let all of us down in this important matter.

Actually I had spent the few days before my trip to Sacramento fantasizing
that soon after the California legislature voted for this bill, it would
spread across the country in a matter of months and Marsha Walker would
then need a new cause to champion!    I now realize that over the last two
decades, I have created and exist in an idyllic place.  Until now, I never
really understood why we were able to remove formula gift packs from our
hospital 23 years ago with just one staff meeting and so many of you have
been unable to achieve this.  I truly believed that educated adults "got
it" about free formula distribution.

I certainly do hope that some good will come out of this.  I can't really
imagine right now what that might be, but perhaps those of you who have
written about this disappointment are right.  I am still stinging a bit too
much to speak with the press about this because I don't think I can handle
any more humiliation at the moment.

They really thought we were pretty whacky!

On the lighter side, I guess we won't be seeing NMC in BF discharge bags
much longer, huh?
