From earlier posts:

Approach #1: "I would have mom stop breastfeeding for
2-4 days, use the hydrogel dressings, and bottle feed EBM with Av--- nipple.
We had no
trouble getting baby back to breast"

Approach #2: "I prefer to supplement with
SNS with improved latch and positioning (when baby gets milk, you will see
that gentler, suck, swallow pattern) or finger feed a day or two while waiting
for nipples to heal with mom pumping."

I know an LC who uses a third approach - or at least did the last I knew:
bottle-feed, but nurse twice a day, times of your choosing, roughly 12
hours apart. Her rationale to the mom was it helped make sure neither one
of them forgot their skills and made sure her breasts got well drained. I
think another rationale might be that if baby was starting to have problems
from the bottle, mom would pick up on it within 12 hours. Interesting
approach.
