When doing test weights for a feed, be sure the scale is accurate to within 2
grams. When we weigh premies for test weights, we weigh with clothes on and
dry diaper. Remember that whatever clothes the baby has on with the pre weight,
he also must have on with the post weight and be sure NOT to change the
diaper. I am not sure that weighing in ounces is accurage enough for this scenario.
Also, remember that the infant should be gaining 1/2-1 oz a day for adequate
weight gain.
