Judy--

I can really understand the part about being tolerated for the easy to
teach kids--been there, done that!

How sad for you! Too bad that they are depriving children of these
opportunities.

What if you got them a copy of the guidelines, presented it with some of
the studies about IQ, etc, along with the signatures of any other
breastfeeding friendly folks you know?

Go see Linda Smith's "Lip Service, in service of the State" at

http://www.bflrc.com/ljs/news/lip_svs.htm

I find it comforting that I'm not the only one banging my head every
time I reread that. I printed it off and posted it on the door next to
my home visit calendar, sort of as an "eye of the gods" to ward off the
naysayers in my office. They sometimes back off on what they are saying
because they see themselves in this rhyme.

Melinda Hoskins, MS, RN LC2B
Visitation Supervisor, Family to Family Connection, State of Nevada
program in support of new families with infants birth to 12 months.
