<<Do you mean without the SNS in place or without it "turned on"? >>

Didn't ask for clarification. Excl point. I'll mention that to her:
attempt it with the tube in place, but not delivering milk.

I did ask her about previous breast surgeries....she had a biopsy for a
suspected cancerous growth (turned out to be nothing) in the upper outer
right quadrant of her right breast.......The current plugged ducts are
in this area. So far none on the other side or in other quadrants
(which were problems at the begininning).

<<wonder if baby is so used to the feel that he figures if he doesn't
feel it it isn't working right.>>

We did discuss that. He could be feeling that as long as he wants to
get down to business and eat, that it needs there. This is the breast
that has shown the most size change since starting the goat's rue and
MMP one week ago.

He's started a new behavior of sometimes acting like he wants to nurse,
then screaming at the breast wether or not the supplement was there...we
covered the whole range of things 1) sometimes babies just act like
this....occasional fussiness 2) possible ear infection 3) possible sore
neck/headache in certain positions 3) teething... A Whole Bunch of
Things that can be seemingly Mysterious. Of course, because of this
rocky start/supply issue, that'll be her first issue no matter what
comes up.

<<may need to learn it's not necessary when there's
more milk available.>>

mmm hmm. exactly.

She has a gram scale and is weighing before and after feeds - the amount
of milk he's getting from both breasts has increased
significantly....this after noon she called and said she was going to
cut the formula back to 2.5oz every three hours during the day: watching
all of the cues to make sure he's getting enough. She's also stopped
supplementing from 11 pm to 7 am and he's been fine with it.

She's calling NZ tonight for domperidone but who knows, by the time it
gets here, she may not need it.

I hope for this mom that this was just a transient issue (latch, palate)
that caused the supply problem.....crossing fingers that it isn't a
primary supply problem;/

hopeful,
katherine in atl
