I think I need to go back to biochemistry for a better understanding of how
this works. Aren't there several different forms of Vit D and isn't the
supplemental Vit D different from the Vit D manufactured in your body from
exposure to sunlight? Is there any risk of too much Vit D if a baby is
supplemented and out in the sun enough to make its own Vit D? There was
also an article in Canadian Living magazine a couple of months ago that
said certain latitudes in the winter months did not get adequate UV rays,
even if the baby was outside. And yet I read something else somewhere
(how's that for a reference?) that said a baby would have adequate stores
of Vit D for 6 months after birth (definitely said Vit D, not iron). Anyone
who can enlighten me?
