What has been written about Dong Quai and heavy menstrual bleeding is interesting!  I have read about this in various perimenopausal books that recommend it as a cure for heavy periods and I know someone who says it really reduced her flooding problems down to normal. I have also heard it promotes a feeling of calmness, I heard a talk show recently where someone was anxious and the speaker recommended Dong Quai for that. I have no formal education on this matter, either. Nor benefit from selling any herbal products. Mom needs to talk to a qualified herbalist and get the straight story since she is nursing a baby.
