I would appreciate some wisdom/tips for keep a baby's cord stump from
being prematurely ripped off when doing biological nurturing positions in the
early  days.
~~~
I've had moms gently place a clean breast pad over the stump, but mostly to
 protect mom's skin from scraping when the baby is older and the stump has
been  dry and very sharp. Since the pad would be there, friction from a
wriggling baby  might be stabilized by the pad taking the friction, not the
stump itself? Then  again hopefully this baby is getting held and is moving
around ( if not swaddled  within an inch of his life) and it might get dislodged
in any number of ways  anyway?
Peace,
Judy
