For Anna in Austin:  I don't have any advice about breastfeeding a baby with
Turner's syndrome (only one X chromosome, for those of you who don't know),
but I would urge you to tell the mother not to read ANYTHING about Turner's
that is older than about 10 years.  Just like Down Syndrome, the older
literature is very negative and inaccurate about the prognosis.  I have had
one student in class with Turner's Syndrome.  Contrary to the older
literature, children with Turner's are NOT retarded, they don't all have
webbed fingers and necks, they aren't all short.  This young lady was on the
short side, but she was also beautiful and smart and funny.
