<We talked about diet, detergents, soaps,>

Cheapest and first thing that can do no harm, I would suggest is to re-rinse all her bras and towels and sheets, anything that consistently touches her skin, using 0.5 cup of distilled white vinegar in the rinse and no softener in washer or dryer. Air drying or dryer drying will remove the "salad" smell and there will be absolutely no detergent or softener residue to enter pores when they are open after warm bathing, or perspiring during increased circulation of nursing or during sleep.

I find this trick has been applicable to myself in numerous situations (including this week when I am a guest using towels etc. that haven't been treated this way) and when I had my family at home, it was absolutely necessary for comfort of cloth diapered babes, athletes and adolescent girls and myself. I use it in an extra rinse in each and every load of wash I do myself. Cheap and effective. Any brand will do.
