My son is a second year college student, studying psychology. This week, in
his Lifespan Development class, the topic was breastfeeding. Andrew told me
that the professor spent 30 minutes talking about breastfeeding. That's not
very long but at least there was discussion. I looked through his notes and
it looks like the information was reasonably good. He wrote "WHO recommends
2 years" and "AAP recommends bf only for six months (no food)" (meaning no
solids). She also asked how many of the class knew if they had been
breastfed. Only Andrew and one other student could answer yes, they knew
that they had indeed been breastfed as babies (or toddler, in Andrew's
case).

On a funny note, one of our teachers at school is pregnant, due in October.
Another had a baby in April. This morning, in the pregnant teacher's office
mailbox was a very large tube of Lansinoh. I am assuming it was a gift from
the other teacher.

Kathy
