Subject: haberman feeder and pigeon nipple

Hello fellow lactnetters, I am trying to determine if there is a problem in bottle supplementing a normal baby who needs a supplement. this would be done if weight loss, no latch, parents dislike other alternatives. As I have done a search in the archives , I do see that other LC'ds do use the haberman feeder for supplementing. Both of these nipples are used primarily for cleft babies. The reason I am using them is due to the fact that the baby can control the flow because of the valve. I do realize that they work on compression only. but my concern is whether they cause problems in relation to the sucking piece. As I have found out there is no clinical evidence for using this nipple to supplement. I am asking what others experiences has been. thanks Germaine
