In addition to the cool mummy at the museum in San Diego, I have seen a
number of photos of excavations of archaeological skeletal remains showing
an adult woman's skeleton laid out in the grave, and between her pubic bones
are the bones of the baby's skull. Obvious cases of mothers dying in
childbirth -- most likely because the baby's head was too big.

"Anthropoid" means human-like (not ape like, as stated by the description of
four different kinds of pelvises). I thought the 4-part division into
different pelvic shapes was amusing. That's like dividing people into
short, medium, tall, and extra-tall.

I wear size 11 shoes -- does that mean I can have a 12 pound baby? I don't
think so. I barely got out my 9 pounder with the giant broad shoulders.
