I am a little behind on reading Lactet, and just caught your(Marie davis) note
of Jan 15.
I have often recommended that non breastfeeding moms let some of the milk run
out in a warm shower, especially when the breasts are painful. It helps them
feel more comfortable.
If medications arent an issue, I will advise that she even try to put any milk
that leaks into a bottle and feed it to baby( I have these sneaky ways of
helping babies recieve breast milk!) ..
Really though, I think it is better for the breasts to have some of the milk
expressed out.
Does this sound right?
It would be nice to see some research to compare future breastfeeding
capabitlties with breasts that were encouraged to let a little milk out, with
breasts that were tightly bound and NO stimulation at all allowed.
