Just a note on sterile urine containers for breastmilk storage. The
manufacturer of the these containers have indicated their containers are
NOT
food grade safe.

_________

First of all, remember that the manufacturer has no reason to state
something is useful to be used when it wasn't made/advertised/sold for that
reason. They need to protect themselves from possible lawsuits in case you
use it and there is injury. (similar to the PDR - they always say their
medications are not for breastfeeding mothers).

I checked with my packaging engineer husband on this subject. He said you
can look at the recycling emblem usually imprinted in the bottom of the
container.

In general:

PS - Styrene - NOT safe for food products (flavor transfer), usually clear
and very brittle
PP - Polyprolyline - usually OK as it is used for syringes. This can be
boiled, but is brittle at low temperatures.
PE - Plyethyline - also usually safe for food products - milk bottles are
made of it. Cannot be boiled.
