Hi Everyone,
I was discussing contraception and breastfeeding with a clinic RN. She was saying that a certain sector of the population do not wait for 6 weeks or whatever before having sex after the birth of a baby but on coming home sex is resumed immediately. She therefore does not see the mother at 6 weeks and wanted to know what she could use in this situation. Condoms are a no, no! What suggestions do you have? I have not encountered this before and would appreciate some info. What would be safe to use post-natally - an IUD? Help!
Thanks,
Barbie Currie. IBCLC. Nelspruit, South Africa.
