Once a baby is almost going home and many times after the persistence of the parent I get called to the Lactation Room in NICU to assist this mom. Without going into details today I was told that beginning today I needed a doctor's order before this babies can begin to breastfeed, even though these babies have been bottle feeding for so long and almost going home, the excuse was to monitor baby's intake..please illuminate me in this long journey of resistance! Is this the norm? I've been here for almost 3 yrs and this is the first I hear of this.

thanks!
