Susun Weed discusses the uses of Golden Seal and Echinacea in her book,
Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year.  This book covers the use of
herbs from before pregnancy to postpartum.  She talks about using
Echinacea for mastitis and Golden Seal for thrush.  She does caution
against over use though.  I find this to be a very informative book.  It
is just one in her series.  Maybe you or the mom you are working with can
get this book.  It's found in most health stores.
