A question came up at our last Breastfeeding Task Force about the
necessity of boiling nipples etc when the baby has thrush. It seems the
LC was questioning the necessity because mom's that are bottle feeding
don't seem to get this advice from the MD's and she was wondering why
breastfeeding mom's would have to. I guess she was also wondering about
the organisms ability to actually live on a artificial teat for any
length of time. Based on what I know I would have to say "no harm done"
to boiling as I know Candida is a persistent fungus. What do others
think?
