Rebecca,

Have you thought of checking with a prosthetic company that carries bras for
women with mastectomies or breast surgery ?

My mom is a bilateral mastectomy patient of some 40 years. In the days
before mass produced accessories mom would take a regular bar and sew a
patterned piece of fabric (the pattern made from the back side of the
insert) and hand stitch it to the back side creating a pocket to place the
prostheses inside.

What type of insert does she have, a partial or full? Depending on the size
and type of insert she might be able to have a seamstress modify a regular
nursing bra or regular front clasping bra to meet her needs.

Just a thought, hope it helps.
