Hi Dianne,

Like Mary, this baby also sounds like my oldest child ....I haven't met too
many people with a child like that:-):-). Sleep was poor too, didn't really 'nap'
until around 2 years of age.....surprised me totally by nursing through my
second pregnancy and tandem nursing! Very high need child....and super
sensitive to all stimuli.

I too noticed a difference between my three children and how they handled
my over active let-down......my son was the sweetest.....his would calmly pull
off and wait patiently...then relatch - a miracle to me after my first - who
would scream pull off and be done after 3 minutes on one breast!! Now I
know that she probably got 2-3 ounces in that three minutes.....

Boy these type of children make 'living' hard. Hard to travel....hard to get out
period and hope they will eat. I spent many a day engorged and
uncomfortable if we were away from home. With all three of my kids -
nursing asleep was the most affective. I would nurse as soon as they started
to wake from a nap - or with my second and third I would rock them to sleep
and then nurse them once they were asleep - they would nurse much longer
then...we did alot of night nursing, where I'm sure they obtained much of their
needed caloric intake.....

Warmly,
