You might check the archives as I know we have discussed this before. I
have a fried who consumed alot of peanuts during her pregnancy and
lactation.

During her son's first year of life he was sickly with lots of mucousy
respiratory symptoms. He was tested for CF and diagnosed with asthma. On
his first birthday he was given the crust of a peanut butter sandwich and
had a severe reaction (distressed breathing, copious mucous and hives).
This was his first taste of peanut butter. He weaned shortly after his
birthday. We surmise that he was sensitized in utero to the peanuts and had
been reacting to the peanuts in his mother's milk. This attributed to his
severe reaction with the sandwich.

He also reacts to beans in the bean table at school (hives). She carries an
epi-pen everywhere.

Kathy
