Hi, Kathleen and Rachel: I don't see any difference between my next door
neighbor asking me what she could take for a headache and me recommending
CAPNO to a nursing mom. Obviously, if, using my nursing judgement, I feel the
next door neighbor or the nursing mom might need a prescription medication, I
will refer them to their doctors for further evaluation.
I would much prefer a mom ask me for advice, than to hear that she went to
the drugstore and just started pulling medications from the shelf and trying
them herself.
My docs also know me well enough that they will refer a mom back to me for
the "recipe" or call themselves, asking for my input as to what the best
medication might be.
Also, my moms are very Internet-savvy. They know that APNO is out there
and they know how to go about getting it. Again, I feel much more
comfortable with a mother using APNO under some medical (mine) supervision,
than none at all.
