Even though I live in MD I can't see any tangible benefit to making these
supplies tax free (other than that I don't like to give one penny to the
government more than I have to because heaven knows this state taxes you to
death).  However, there may be a somewhat less tangible benefit to this.  That
is, perhaps by making these items tax free the message is being sent that
breastfeeding is encouraged and we want to help make it possible for mothers
to get the equipment they need.  Now, of course, most of us have various
arguements against the "need" of various breastfeeding products.  Still, I
think the mindset and intention can only be good, if of little help.
