I have a mother of an 8 month old who needs surgery on her ear. The mother
obtained a listing of all of the anesthetic medicines that would be used. In
our research we found no problem with any of them except propofol which was
addressed by Dr. Tom Hale March 1996 on Lactnet. The anesthesiologist has
agreed to omit the propofol and replace it with 5 to 7 mg of versed (to put her
to sleep) instead of the originally planned 2 mg. of versed. We are looking
for half life information on this drug at this dosage and any other warnings or
problems that this mom may need to be aware of.

TIA
