Sharon

There was a rush of posts to Lactnet after your comment about who was allowed to exhibit at ILCA's annual conference for health professionals in Acapulco ..

And today, I believe that you also have sent a post to Lactnet for us to "check out this great new site www.breastfedplanet.net".

When I did (fairly briefly), I found direct links to websites that were advertising bottles and teats (and pumps etc).

Sharon, as I saw your name and personal photos there, perhaps this breastfedplanet.net is your website? If not, then my apologies in advance.. but if so, perhaps you can clarify whether there's an inconsistency in what is being said about and asked of others/ILCA? or am I missing something obvious (it is late here!).

Cheers

  Subject: Code Violators at ILCA
I did not attend the ILCA Conference in Acapulco, but as I was
reviewing the syllabus, I noticed that Code violators were permitted to
display as vendors. I realize this in itself is not a violation, but the same
could be said for formula companies displaying. IBFAN gives very clear
reasons why and how these companies violate the International Code of
Marketing Breastmilk Substitutes. See their website: www.ibfan.org for further information. None of these bottle companies market their bottles and teats as a vessel to feed
expressed breastmilk to infants. Is it just me, or is this a serious conflict? What do you lactnetters think?
