I have no idea how long Einstein actually nursed but I once read it was 10 years.  It stuck out in my mind for 2 reasons:
-- It's quite an unusual "fact" to come up with out of nowhere.
-- If he did nurse for roughly that length of time, my guess is he nursed quite intensely the first 3 years.

My special interest for the past 15+ years is normal nursing patterns / longterm nursing.  Sure would love to get mom's wrap-up of Albert's childhood years!

I have even heard that Albert Einstein
was breastfed for two years, but since I have been unable to find a source
for that and he is "modern" enough to have been able to survive with
cow's
milk, I have been refraining from mentioning him in my list. As for the
other guys, I am pretty sure that they were either fed by their mothers or
by wet nurses.
